Grand Lake Golf Club near Houston Reopens Course after Green Enhancements

(MONTGOMERY, Texas) - Grand Lake Golf Club just outside of Houston, Texas unveiled their new greens and open all 18 holes of the course Sept. 4. Grand Lake Golf Club had been undergoing a green enhancement program that included the conversation of the original putting surfaces to Tiff Eagle Bermuda turf.

"We are excited to open all 18 holes of Grand Lake Golf Club and are positive that area golfers will appreciate the new green surfaces," stated Cody Spivey the general manager overseeing operations at Grand Lake Golf Club. "The turf we used for the greens conversion, Tif Eagle, is actually a third generation Bermuda, that can offer improved putting speeds and consistency. This strain of turf has proven itself to be a superior Bermuda putting surface and is more hearty then the prior grasses that were used at Grand Lake. In fact, this turf will grow even better in heat and humidity and will provide for more consistent conditions year round," added Spivey

Grand Lake Golf Club features a 7,165-yard, par 72 layout that originally opened in 2003. Located in the Montgomery County, just outside Houston, Grand Lake offers a fun and memorable routing that takes full advantage of the surrounding landscape.
