Affiniti Golf Partners to Manage Harbor Club at Lake Oconee

(Atlanta, Georgia) - Affiniti Golf Partners (www.affinitigolf.com) continues to add to its growing stable of managed golf club properties with the addition of Harbor Club, a 20-year cornerstone of Georgia's most acclaimed residential and resort golf destination at 19,000-acre Lake Oconee.

Harbor Club is a 1,000-acre planned, gated community framed by nine-miles of lakefront in Greensboro, GA, halfway between Augusta and Atlanta. Its centerpiece is the highly awarded Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish-designed course that elevated golf in the Peach State when it opened in 1991. Most recently, Harbor Club's course earned top honors from the Zagat Survey as among "America's Top Golf Courses" in 2009 and 2010, and given 4½ out of 5 stars by Golf Digest as "Best Places to Play" for the past 3 years in a row.

"In our conversations with Affiniti Golf Partners, it was clear that their team holds a profound stake in all who spend time at The Harbor Club," states Harbor Club owner John Matney. "Whether it be the 20-year resident or the weekend golf vacationer, Affiniti's significant presence in the Georgia golf market and knowledge of golf communities made them the easy choice to manage our club."

The Harbor Club community and all its amenities will continue under the same ownership that has prevailed since 1993, the Matney family out of Bristol, VA and Greensboro, GA. While the economy has taken a toll on many developments across the U.S., Harbor Club has managed to remain completely solvent and free of debt.

In addition to managing all golf operations, Affiniti will oversee the dining, maintenance, pool, tennis, swim, and lodging functions at Harbor Club.

"The opportunity at Harbor Club is most welcome," says Steve Willy, founding partner at Affiniti. Between the architectural pedigree of the golf course, the fiscal strength of the club and the pristine lake setting of the community, we have an uncommon opportunity to achieve their goal of continued prosperity."
