Billy Casper Golf Names Ryan Ballengee Managing Editor of Digital Network

(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf – the largest domestic owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has named Ryan Ballengee to the newly-created position of Managing Editor of the soon-to-launch BCG Digital Network.

Ballengee will oversee development of national, regional and local content for all BCG course websites, and spearhead the upcoming launch of the new BCG website. Already a recognized leader in driving customers and members to book tee times online, BCG’s shift to engaging, content-driven websites is poised to increase traffic, loyalty and spend.

Content will include interesting, informative and entertaining news and feature stories specific to each of BCG’s 150-plus properties. In addition, Ballengee and field reporters will file stories from the PGA Merchandise Show, PGA TOUR tournaments, The Masters, Ryder Cup, USGA annual meeting and other events. Golf equipment, fashion and gifts, buddy trips, family golf, and BCG’s “World’s Largest Golf Outing” and “Women on Course” programs also dot the editorial calendar.

Integrating content with Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and other social media channels adds to BCG courses’ engagement with customers and members.

“Billy Casper Golf has built the strongest operating platform in golf,” says Ballengee. “With the forward-thinking marketing framework in place, I’m excited to spotlight the wonderful people who make this company shine, our loyal customers and members, and major events in the golf world.”

“With a journalism background, Ryan Ballengee is uniquely skilled at identifying and telling stories,” says Kyle Ragsdale, Chief Marketing Officer for BCG. “We touch millions of people every year at our facilities and online; with that scale, we have a unique opportunity to tell stories from a golfer point of view and this fresh approach to golf media will further separate BCG from the golf-course management pack.”

Ballengee joins BCG from GolfNewsNet, which he founded and oversaw content, marketing partnerships and site development. Previously, he was Managing Editor of Back9Network.com, leading a team of 30 contributors, producers and other talent in shaping the site’s editorial direction and voice. Ballengee also reported for NBCSports.com, GolfChannel.com and SB Nation / Waggle Room.
