George Fazio Course at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort Named 2014 SC Course of the Year

(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) – Hilton Head Golf Island – a collection of 30 of the Lowcountry’s premier golf courses – announces the George Fazio Course at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort has been named 2014 South Carolina Golf Course of the Year.

The South Carolina Board of Directors of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) awarded the prestigious statewide accolade to the George Fazio Course, which will now compete in the next tier at the national level. The win follows the “Chapter Course of the Year” award, voted by the Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association.

The NGCOA criteria includes: exceptional quality of the course; exceptional quality of management; outstanding contribution to the community; and significant contribution to the game. The honor completes a trifecta for Palmetto Dunes, as all three of the resort’s golf courses have been named South Carolina’s Course of the Year.
